The MIGHTY MCHS RAMS have made the playoffs!!!
Here are the details:
They will be playing Strake Jesuit Thursday night at 7:00 at Rhodes Stadium. Tickets are available at school until 1:00 Thursday afternoon. Adults are $6 and students are $4 if you buy them at school. Both adult and student tickets will be $8 at the gate. Employee passes will not be honored for the playoff game. Come out and support THE RAMS!!!!!
Both Mayde Creek Academic Challenge teams advanced to the playoffs at Saturday’s tournament, finishing at the same level as Taylor and Seven Lakes. We were the only Katy school with two teams competing. Please congratulate the following students for their achievements:

One highlight of the day was Team 2 naming seven out of ten college football coaches in a 60-second round. Coach Carter should be proud!
Here are more highlights of the year so far:
Band - For the sixth consecutive year the Mighty Ram Band earned all first divisions at the Region 23 UIL Marching contest. The drumline competed in the 2008 Foster High School Drumline Contest and came in 2nd in class 5A. Our bass drum section won the "Outstanding Bass Drum Section". Member of the band competed for chairs in the TMEA Region 23 full orchestra. Thre members were selected: Javier Casas, Justin Long, and Mark Jablinski. This qualified them for the area level of competition that will be held in January. Two of our band members were selected for the Region 23 Jazz Ensemble: Gram Lee and Javier Casas.

Debate - Sara Zaman won first place and Danny Alexander was 3rd in varsity Lincoln Douglass Debate at the Elsik Speech and Debate Tournament.
Journalism - Journalism students competed against 900 other students and the following students were very successful: Tori Blanchard - Superior in Sports Writing; Halli Sanchez - Superior in Architecture Photography and Excellence in People Photography; Emily Pitter - Honorable Mention in Advanced yearbook Design; and Arielle Gutierrez - Honorable Mention in Open Photography.
Congratulations to Judy Whitaker. She was selected as TexTESOL IV ESOL Teacher of the Year for 2008.
