Katy ISD Administration Recommends No Make-Up for the April 28 Missed Day
(May 12, 2009) - Katy ISD will recommend to the Board of Trustees that the district not make up the April 28 missed day. In making the decision, consideration was given to feedback received from the Katy community, along with attention to the time of year and the impact on family plans. The recommendation will go to the Board of Trustees on Wednesday, May 13, for approval.
May 26 is built into the district calendar for use as a make-up day for bad weather. The Texas Education Agency, however, has indicated that the district does not have to make up the April 28 day. In an effort to make a decision to meet the needs of Katy ISD families, the district posted an online survey to gather input regarding the make-up day.
The district appreciates the input of all who participated in the survey as it served to make a recommendation that took into account the needs of Katy ISD families at this time of year.
