Mayde Creek Athletic Booster Club collected money for a cousin of one of our RAMS who plays football at Foster High School and is bravely battling leukemia. Here is a note from Addison's mom that we wanted to share with you.
"I would like to dedicate today’s blog to Mayde Creek High School. Jack and I met with Coach Wiatrek at Foster High School last week. He gave us a large jar with a Green sign on it that says, “Mayde Creek Rams support Addison Marshall, Stay Strong, our prayers are with you.” Apparently, the jar was passed around at the Foster-Mayde Creek game last season. Our nephew, Niko attends Mayde Creek. We sat with lumps in our throats and tears in our eyes as we understood the Mayde Creek connection. It took some detective work but we now know that the Mayde Creek Athletic Booster Club was responsible for that not so random act of kindness. Coach Wiatrek said it best , “What a class act.”"
Updates from the Coaches:
Golf:
Please join me in congratulating the Mayde Creek Rams Varsity Boys Golf Team for their outstanding performance at the Katy Winter Classic held at Falcon Point Country Club this week. The boys shot 313 on Monday to set a school record at that course and followed it up on Tuesday with a 307 to break their own record from the day before in route to winning the golf tournament. Individually, Ryan Roseberry’s score of 72 on Tuesday set a school record at Falcon Point, besting the previous mark by three shots. Nick Pierce ended up one shot out of 3rd place, while Anthony Syrko, Zachary Jackson, and Zachary Weik each played well and contributed scores to assist the Rams. If these boys continue to improve as they have, they will certainly be a force to reckon with at the district tournament in April.
In girls action this week at Greatwood Golf Club, Jenny Kang shot 81-79 to bring home the 3rd place medal.
Upcoming tournaments include the boys at Greatwood Golf Club on January 29-30, and boys and girls at River Ridge on February 5-6.
