MCHS News:

Band
The Symphonic Band competed in the Region 23 UIL concert and sight-reading contest and earned a Division I on stage (Superior) and a Division I in Sight Reading (Superior) for an overall Superior rating.
The Concert Band also performed at the sight-reading contest and earned an overall Superior rating.  They are given a piece of music they have never seen before and with 9 minutes of explanation they had to perform with no rehearsal.  The band earned an Excellent rating! 
Choir
The choir also participated in the sight-reading contest.  They took a total of 6 choirs and earned no less than "excellent" ratings.  Here are the results:

Golf
Jenny Kang concluded her Mayde Creek golf career with a 6th place finish at the regional golf tournament at Eagle Pointe Golf Club in Mont Belvieu.  She is the most accomplished golfer in school history with two district titles, advancing to three regional tournaments, and one appearance at the state golf tournament.  She has signed a letter of intent to play for Houston Baptist University.
Girls Track
At the district track meet, the varsity girls finished 3rd and the JV girls won the district title.  Congratulations to these young women on a fine season.
Boys Track
The boys track team  competed at the District 17-5A Champtionships at Seven Lakes and the varsity boys took home the district championship for the third straight year!  The JV finished 3rd and the 9th grade boys took home 2nd.  What an outstanding finish to the regular season!
